Trinidad, Colo. - Trinidad State Softball welcomes back alumni Zoey Neeld-Stewart as the new assistant softball coach. Stewart played at Trinidad State in the 2023 and 2024 season and just received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Texas AM Corpus Christi. While at Texas AM Corpus Christi, she was a two-year starter and during her senior year was selected as a team captain. She was honored in the postseason for her academic achievement making the Southland Conference 2026 All-Academic Team.

While at Trinidad State, Neeld-Stewart was an All-Region selection and finished her career with the Trojans hitting .478 with 162 hits, 42 HR and 103 RBI. She was also on the 2024 team that won a Region 9 Championship and a berth in the NJCAA 2024 College World Series where her team finished in the Elite 8.

"I'm very excited for Zoey wanting to come back to where her college career began to give back to future Trojan athletes," former head softball coach and current Athletic Director Stephen Swazo said. "Her knowledge from playing at the D1 level will definitely help the team on how to prepare and what it takes to get to that next level. Looking forward to watching her growth as a coach."
